The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what steps she is taking to increase investment in high streets in (a) the North West and (b) Runcorn and Helsby constituency.

This Government is fully committed to rejuvenating our high street and supporting the businesses and communities that make our town centres successful.
The North West has benefitted from £486.2 million through the Towns Deals, £168.7 million through the Future High Streets Fund, and £682 million through levelling up and associated funds that have helped to regenerate town centres and high streets. Five areas in the North West have also received funding for a High Street Accelerators; Oldham, Blackpool, Blackburn with Darwen, Tameside and Hyndburn. Each Accelerator has received over £700,000 to help transform their high street.
Runcorn was awarded £23.6 million as part of the Towns Fund, and is set to receive up to £20 million of funding as part of the retained and reformed ‘Long Term Plan for Towns’ programme.
