To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many and what proportion of detained illegal migrants were deported in 2024.

The Home Office publishes data on returns and detention in the ‘Immigration System Statistics Quarterly Release’. Data on numbers of people leaving detention due to being returned are published in table Det_D03 of the ‘Detention detailed datasets’. Information on how to use the dataset can be found in the ‘Notes’ page of the workbook. The latest data relates to up to September 2024, with data up to December 2024 to be published on 27 February.
