The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many schools have closed in the last five years.

Education is a devolved matter, and the response outlines the information for England only.

98 state-funded mainstream primary and secondary schools in England closed between January 2020 and December 2024. The attached table sets out these closures by calendar year.
