The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology is responsible for civil contingency planning, warning and mitigation in relation to Near-Earth Objects and space debris.

Contingency planning and event warnings are delivered through the UK Space Agency (UKSA) and the National Space Operations Centre (NSpOC).
