The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how often inspections are conducted on private sewage systems to prevent environmental contamination.

Answered by Emma Hardy

In 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively the Environment Agency carried out 185, 224 and 202 inspections of private sewerage systems, excluding private discharges of trade effluent.
