Cabinet Office: Disciplinary Proceedings
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the Answer of 24 December 2024 to Question 19479 on Civil Servants: Disciplinary Proceedings, how many civil servants working in his Department have been suspended due to allegations of misconduct since in each year since 2020.
Answered by Georgia Gould
Suspensions are used to safeguard the organisation and are not an assumption of guilt. Suspension can be used for a range of reasons; including during security investigations, fraud investigations or misconduct. The table below shows the number of suspensions since 2020:
Year | Number of suspensions |
2020 | 4 |
2021 | 4 |
2022 | 2 |
2023 | 7 |
2024 | 7 |
2025 | 3 |
