Asked by Martin WrigleyLiberal DemocratDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 29 April 2025UIN 46251

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many complaints her Department has received on (a) glare and (b) dazzle caused by LED headlights in the last 12 months.

Answered by Lilian Greenwood

The Department for Transport does not routinely categorise or record the number of cases where correspondence is received complaining about specific issues.

However, based on a manual review of records, in the 12 months up to 22 April the department has received 69 items of correspondence citing “glare” from road vehicles and 9 items citing “dazzle” from road vehicles.
