Road Traffic Offences: Cameras

Asked by Wendy MortonConservativeHome OfficeTabled Answered 1 May 2025UIN 47232

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of mobile speed camera vans in reducing speeding in (a) the West Midlands and (b) Aldridge-Brownhills constituency.

Answered by Dame Diana Johnson

The use of mobile speed camera vans to enforce speed limits is an operational matter for West Midlands Police.

Excess speed is a major cause of death and serious injury on our roads and anyone who breaks the speed limit should expect to face proper sanction.
