Courts: Police

Asked by Jim ShannonDemocratic Unionist PartyMinistry of JusticeTabled Answered 8 May 2025UIN 48917

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps she is taking to improve relationships between courts and local police.

Answered by Alex Davies-Jones

Close working between partners is vital to the smooth running of the Criminal Justice System. At a local level, the 41 Local Criminal Justice Boards across England and Wales bring together partners from across the Criminal Justice System, including courts and local police. We support these boards in a number of ways, including through the provision of guidance and facilitating engagement between boards.
