Armed Forces Compensation Scheme: Pain
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of amending the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme to include chronic primary pain as a compensable condition.
Answered by Al Carns
Under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, pain and suffering are already included in awards for all conditions, the aim being a holistic approach to compensation.
How chronic pain could be better addressed under the Scheme is currently being considered by the Independent Medical Expert Group (IMEG) as part of their Forward Work Programme.
