Physiotherapy

Asked by Andrew RosindellReform UKDepartment of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 22 July 2025UIN 67834

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps he has taken to improve state funded physiotherapy.

Answered by Karin Smyth

Integrated care boards (ICBs) are responsible for the commissioning the majority of health and care services, including physiotherapy, in England. ICBs arrange healthcare services to meet the needs of their local population, within available resources.

NHS England is supporting ICBs to make informed decisions about the provision of physiotherapy services so that they can provide consistent, high quality, and integrated care.
