To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether his Department is taking steps to encourage national pride among (a) individual people and (b) public sector organisations in (i) the United Kingdom and (ii) England.

On 25 September, this Government published its Pride in Place Strategy, setting out a vision to restore national pride by empowering communities and revitalising local areas. It recognises that pride stems from what people see from their doorstep - safe streets, thriving high streets, and trusted public services.
The strategy is a significant step change in how we support communities, a new way for government to work in partnership with people and neighbourhoods, empowering them with the tools and levers to drive meaningful change that reflects their priorities. Our flagship Pride in Place Programme will provide up to £20 million of flexible funding and support over 10-years to 244 neighbourhoods to unlock the potential of the place they call home.
