Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 27 October 2025UIN 83120

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 46 of the Defence Industrial Strategy: Making Defence an Engine for Growth, published on 8 September 2025, CP 1388, what progress has he made on investing in cutting-edge teaching and university facilities to increase places in defence-related courses.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is investing £80 million in our world leading universities so they can invest in cutting edge facilities and expand places in defence related courses, including in engineering and computer science disciplines. The MOD is working closely with the Department for Education on plans for the delivery of this funding, and further details will be published in due course.
