Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency and National Highways: Staff

Asked by Neil O'BrienConservativeDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 18 November 2025UIN 88789

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many people have been employed by (a) the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency and (b) (i) Highways England and (ii) National Highways in each year since 2005.

Answered by Simon Lightwood

The data requested for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is publicly available information included in the DfT: workforce management information.

The data requested for National Highways (and covering Highways England) is publicly available information included in the Annual Report and Accounts. The only exception to this is in 2021/22 as the Annual Report and Accounts was not delivered in the same format following the creation of National Highways.
