Doctors: Surrey Heath

Asked by Dr Al PinkertonLiberal DemocratDepartment of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 18 November 2025UIN 89068

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department has made an assessment of the number of doctors seeking work in (a) non-training and (b) locum posts in Surrey Heath constituency.

Answered by Karin Smyth

No specific assessment has been made.

As set out in the 10-Year Health Plan, published in July 2025, over the next three years we will create 1,000 new specialty training posts with a focus on specialties where there is the greatest need. We will set out next steps in due course.
