Prisoners' Release: Foreign Nationals

Asked by Jim AllisterTraditional Unionist VoiceMinistry of JusticeTabled Answered 19 November 2025UIN 90575

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many people released through the early release scheme in Northern Ireland were foreign nationals.

Answered by Jake Richards

Justice, including the management of offenders and prisons, is a devolved matter in Northern Ireland. The Ministry of Justice does not hold data relating to the release of prisoners in Northern Ireland and the honourable Member would have to contact the Northern Ireland Executive for this information.
