The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 12 January 2026 to Question 103249 on Islands: Sovereignty, whether her response to the report will be provided prior to the completion of the ratification of the UK-Mauritius Treaty.

We are considering the International Relations and Defence Committee (IRDC) findings carefully and will respond in full in due course. A date for ratification will be confirmed once both Parties have finalised all domestic procedures necessary to achieve ratification.
