The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what is the full scope of the Hypersonic Flight Test and Experimentation Project Arrangement.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The Hypersonic Flight Test and Experimentation (HyFliTE) Project Arrangement, a milestone agreement signed between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States to accelerate the testing of hypersonic vehicles and related technologies, aims to rapidly develop, test and evaluate hypersonic systems. It will enable collaboration amongst AUKUS partners through shared testing facilities and deep technical expertise.

The programme incorporates existing national efforts, including multiple flight tests across all nations by 2028 which will provide opportunities for experimentation and furthering knowledge on hypersonic capabilities to meet AUKUS capability priorities. The flights will also provide opportunities for related counter-hypersonic activities within AUKUS and other allied nations and industry partners.
