Lebanon: Humanitarian Aid

Asked by James McMurdockIndependentForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 27 April 2026UIN 128894

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to her Department’s press release entitled New UK Aid for displaced people in Lebanon as Minister visits Beirut, published on 16 April 2026, what mechanisms are in place to ensure that UK funding is not diverted to terrorist organisations or other proscribed groups operating in the region.

Answered by Mr Hamish Falconer

I refer the Hon Member to the press release he mentions in his questions, which sets out details of the support being provided. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and our partners have robust processes in place to ensure we maximise the impact of our humanitarian funding and mitigate any risks.
