Cabinet Office: Redundancy Pay

Asked by Mike WoodConservativeCabinet OfficeTabled Answered 19 May 2026UIN 220

The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to the Answer of 8 September 2025 to Question 73331 on Home Office: Redundancy Pay, whether the £30,000 tax-free redundancy allowance also applied to the severance payment to the outgoing Cabinet

Answered by Satvir Kaur

It is a longstanding policy not to comment on individual employment matters. The guidance on tax on severance payments is here: https://www.gov.uk/termination-payments-and-tax-when-you-leave-a-job/what-you-pay-tax-and-national-insurance-on
