Asked by Cat SmithLabourForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 21 May 2026UIN 242

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, how the Government intends to monitor and track potential breaches of international humanitarian law following the closure of the international humanitarian law cell.

Answered by Stephen Doughty

As explained in the answer of 29 April to Question 129721, the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Cell has not closed; it has simply moved to a different team within the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
