Asked by James McMurdockIndependentDepartment for EducationTabled Answered 27 May 2026UIN 1075

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what plans she has to include specialists with expertise in Development Language Disorder in the development of specialist provision frameworks.

Answered by Georgia Gould

An independent expert panel will oversee the development of the National Inclusion Standards and Specialist Provision Packages and keep them under regular review. The panel will draw on evidence from academics, education leaders and practitioners, and health and social care professionals including speech and language therapists, to promote high-quality, evidence-based practice and ensure alignment across the system, delivering high-quality support for children and young people, including those with Development Language Disorder.
