Asked by Dr Al PinkertonLiberal DemocratDepartment of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 1 June 2026UIN 1394

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the potential cost savings to the NHS of introducing earlier miscarriage intervention and prevention models.

Answered by Karin Smyth

No assessment has been made of the cost savings to the National Health Service in implementation of earlier miscarriage intervention and prevention models.

As part of the Renewed Women’s Health Strategy, we have committed to closely reviewing the findings presented in the Tommy’s graded model of care study, including any potential cost savings.
