National Security Adviser
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, how many times Jonathan Powell, the Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser, has given oral evidence to Parliament since his appointment.
Answered by Dan Jarvis
It is for Ministers to account to Parliament in public. The National Security Adviser has met with MPs in private as part of his role providing advice to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet on national security matters, including a private session with the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy. Such meetings are often sensitive in nature, and the Government does not routinely comment on them or their content.
