Gender Based Violence: Criminal Proceedings
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps he is taking through the criminal justice system to support victims of violence against women.
Answered by Catherine Atkinson
We are treating violence against women and girls as a national emergency, by investing £550 million in victim support services; strengthening the criminal law to tackle online enabled VAWG; rolling out tough new Domestic Abuse Protection Orders; announcing new court measures to protect victims; and introducing Independent Legal Advisors for adult rape victims.
