The question

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, how much revenue was generated from capital gains tax in the last financial year.

Capital Gains Tax receipts in the 2025 to 2026 tax year were £22.2 billion. This figure is provisional until aligned to HMRC’s annual report and accounts due to be published in Summer 2026.
