Blue Badge Scheme: Fraud
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the answer of 18 May 2026 to Question 479 on Blue Badge Scheme: Fraud, if her Department will change its policy and collect data on the number of fraudulent blue badges in circulation.
Answered by Simon Lightwood
The Department takes Blue Badge fraud very seriously. We’re clear that the misuse of Blue Badges undermines the benefits of the scheme, impacts upon local traffic management, and creates hostility amongst other badge holders and members of the public. It is the responsibility of local authorities to establish robust enforcement processes to ensure that the scheme’s rules are obeyed.
