Stamp Duty Land Tax
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment her Department has made of the potential impact of stamp duty changes on housing market activity.
Answered by Dan Tomlinson
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is an important source of Government revenue, raising around £14 billion each year to help pay for essential public services.
The Government considers the impact of tax on market activity across all sectors, including housing, as part of the policy development process.
