Asylum: Housing

Asked by Neil O'BrienConservativeHome OfficeTabled Answered 1 June 2026UIN 3321

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 19 May 2026 to Question 306, what her planned timetable is to (a) tender and (b) agree the replacement Asylum Accommodation and Support Contracts and Advice, Issue, Reporting and Eligibility contracts.

Answered by Alex Norris

For the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract procurement, market engagement took place throughout 2025, including an industry day on 14 April 2026. Formal procurement is expected later in 2026, with tender documentation anticipated in the second half of the year.

We are currently preparing for the Advice, Issue, Reporting and Eligibility tender but cannot yet provide a definitive timetable.

Subject to procurement outcomes, contract awards are expected from 2027 onwards, followed by mobilisation ahead of new arrangements commencing September 2029 to ensure continuity of services.
