To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what recent steps her Department has taken to halt and reverse species decline.

This Government is committed to restoring nature and meeting its species targets, including halting species decline by 2030, reversing declines by at least 10% by 2042, and reducing extinction risk.
This Government is investing £60 million over three years in the Species Recovery Programme, alongside £30 million for species recovery on the national forest estate.
Earlier this year, beavers were released in Somerset and Cornwall following the decision to permit legal reintroductions in England, and we approved £1 million to explore a golden eagle reintroduction programme.
This Government has also announced a record £11.8 billion nature-friendly farming budget for this Parliament.
