To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what discussions he has had with local authorities on flood recovery support for vulnerable residents.

Support under the Flood Recovery Framework is made available only in exceptional circumstances following severe flooding.
The Framework is nonetheless underpinned by the principle that local authorities should have in place mechanisms to support residents after flooding. In line with those principles, the Government expects local authorities to maintain robust contingency arrangements to support their communities. Where additional local needs are identified, including those of vulnerable residents, local authorities may also use their discretionary powers to provide grants, loans or other payments for resilience measures, where appropriate.
