To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the potential insurance implications of increased flood risk for households and businesses in Fylde constituency.

The Department recognises increasing flood risk can affect insurance availability and affordability, including in Fylde, and continues to engage with industry, including at an insurance roundtable last autumn.
Flood Re, a joint Government–industry scheme supporting affordable flood insurance for eligible high-risk households, has reduced costs, with premiums following a flood claim around £1,316 compared with £4,400 prior to the scheme.
