To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care on mental health provision in prisons.

The Deputy Prime Minister met with the previous Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in February where they discussed improving health outcomes for people in prison and on probation as a shared challenge across the Ministry of Justice, Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England.
We are committed to working in close partnership with our health partners to improve services to ensure that people in prison have access to timely and effective mental health care that is tailored to their needs, as reflected in the National Partnership Agreement on Health and Social Care in England. This will continue to be supported by ministerial engagement on shared priorities.
