The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent estimate she has made of the number of small-volume car manufacturers that will be exempt from the ban on new petrol and diesel cars in 2030.

Answered by Keir Mather

In April 2025, the Government set out that small and micro volume manufacturers will be exempt from the 2030 phase out date for new pure petrol and diesel cars. The Government will continue to work with the low volume manufacturing sector as proposals to implement the phase out are finalised.
