Asked by Apsana BegumLabourMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 3 June 2026UIN 3863

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to his Department's UK MOD Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR) Baseline Study 2024/25, published on 28 April 2026, if he will set out the safeguards in place to ensure compliance with international humanitarian law of US strikes on Iran from UK military bases.

Answered by Al Carns

Permissions to utilise UK military bases are considered on a case-by-case basis and the decision to grant permission is dependent on the nature and purpose of their activity. This includes consideration of the applicable legal and policy frameworks.
