To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what steps he is taking to prevent UK manufacturers being undercut by imports produced under lower environmental standards.

The Government shares the public’s high regard for the UK’s environmental protections and has made clear we will not compromise on these.
As set out in the Trade Strategy, this Government is committed to ensuring that our international trade, environment and climate objectives are mutually supportive.
This includes seeking trade deals which preserve our latitude to protect the environment and promote high sustainable standards – both in the UK and overseas. We also seek outcomes in trading frameworks, including at the WTO, that support sustainable trade and the UK’s domestic agenda.
