Government Departments: Consultants
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to the Government Response to the Committee of Public Accounts on the Sixty-eighth to the Seventy-fifth reports from Session 2024-26, CP 1587, May 2026, page 19, if he will publish departmental data on spending on individual private contractors by type of external service, such as consultancy, contingent labour and professional services, when it is provided to the Public Accounts Committee.
Answered by Chris Ward
The government is committed to transparency regarding its use of external resources. In line with our response to the Committee of Public Accounts, the relevant departmental data on spending on consultancy, contingent labour, and professional services will be provided directly to the Committee.
It is the standard practice and expectation that the Committee will publish this evidence as part of its ongoing scrutiny and reporting process.
