Cabinet Office: Counselling
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether his Department provides dedicated counselling sessions for staff with specific protected characteristics.
Answered by Satvir Kaur
The Cabinet Office offers counselling sessions, where appropriate, to all employees as part of the Employee Assistance Provision.
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP) indicate that outcomes are improved when access to ethnic minority counsellors is available for clients from similar backgrounds. To support this, the Cabinet Office provides dedicated sessions for individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds.
