The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to the Independent research into government transparency releases published by the Ethics and Integrity Commission on 12 May 2026, paragraph 32 onwards, what steps the Cabinet Office is taking to end the use of the terms discussion and introductory meeting as descriptors for meeting transparency data across government.

The EIC’s review into lobbying, disclosure and access to government includes looking at whether the current arrangements for transparency around lobbying are sufficient, including the government's publication of monthly and quarterly integrity data; and the Register of Consultant Lobbying.
The EIC has not published its recommendations yet and it would not be appropriate to pre-empt the outcome of the review. On receipt of the EIC's report, the Government will look carefully at any recommendations.
