The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, whether the Competition and Markets Authority has investigated the pricing practices of UK airports for vehicle drop-off charges.

Decisions on whether to take action in specific markets are a matter for the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), as the UK’s independent competition authority, or, in relation to airport operation services, where the Civil Aviation Authority has concurrent competition powers alongside the CMA.

Airports are generally able to set vehicle drop-off charges, subject to complying with competition and consumer protection law.
