Answered by Simon Lightwood
The table below shows how many driving test centres (DTC) conduct car practical driving tests, motorcycle tests, vocational and Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) tests in Great Britain.
This data is available monthly at the beginning of each month. The data below is from 1 July 2024 and 1 June 2026.
Date | Car | Motorcycle module 1 | Motorcycle module 2 | Vocational | Driver CPC | Total driving and rider tests conducted
|
1 July 2024 | 328 | 63 | 114 | 58 | 56 | 180,807 (July 2024 data) |
1 June 2026 | 320 | 63 | 113 | 56 | 54 | 193,259 (April 2026 data as May 2026 data not yet available) |
Please note:
Some DTCs conduct more than one category of test.
Practical driving tests for bus and heavy goods vehicles require the same facilities and are combined under vocational tests.
These are DVSA sites only. Road roller, tank and tractor tests are conducted at a convenient location for the customer.
