To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps her Department is taking to (a) improve the process of reporting anti-social behaviour and (b) make that process more accessible.

Tackling ASB is a top priority for this Government and therefore access to robust data from the key agencies involved in tackling ASB is critical for informing future national and local ASB prevention.
Through the Crime and Policing Act, we are introducing a mandatory duty for local authorities to report data on anti-social behaviour to the Home Office. This will address long-standing gaps in the national evidence base, where existing data is largely limited to police-recorded incidents and does not capture the full range of local authority-led activity.
This improved data will provide a more complete and consistent national picture of ASB, supporting better understanding of the scale and nature of the issue across England and Wales. It will also strengthen the Government’s ability to develop targeted and evidence-based policies to prevent and tackle ASB, and to improve outcomes for victims.
