The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, with reference to his Department’s press release entitled Government and Wayve sign partnership to accelerate Britain’s self-driving future, published on 12 May 2026, what assessment he has made of the potential economic benefits to the UK from the partnership.

The partnership aims to harness the transformative potential of AV technologies to support UK economic growth, strengthen UK supply chain in areas such as embodied AI, hardware, and systems integration, among others and build on UK strengths in research, safety and skills, creating high quality jobs and growth.
