The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, with reference to his Department’s press release entitled Government and Wayve sign partnership to accelerate Britain’s self-driving future, published on 12 May 2026, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of that partnership on the UK automotive supply chain and its ability to incorporate self-driving vehicles into production models.

The partnership aims to harness the transformative potential of AV technologies to support UK economic growth and strengthen UK supply chain in areas such as embodied AI, hardware, and systems integration, among others
