To ask the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, with reference to her Department's policy paper entitled Replacing animals in science: A strategy to support the development, validation and uptake of alternative methods, published on 11 November 2025, by when does she plan to host an international meeting of regulators in the UK on the validation and acceptance of alternative models.

The Government is working to strengthen international collaboration on the validation and acceptance of alternative methods, including engagement with regulators and international forums. As part of this, we are exploring opportunities to convene international partners in the UK to support alignment on regulatory approaches, including through our G20 Presidency in 2027.
Further detail on international engagement, including planned meetings and timelines, will be set out in the delivery update to the Replacing Animals in Science strategy, which will be published later in 2026.
