Typhoon Aircraft

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 8 June 2026UIN 4896

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what are the remaining lifetime hours of each Tranche 1 Eurofighter Typhoon still in service with the RAF.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The remaining life of Tranche 1 Typhoons is governed by a Fatigue Index (FI) limit rather than flying hours. The average FI across the Tranche 1 fleet in service is expected to reach 39 out of a maximum limit of 50 by their planned Out of Service Date.
