Military Aircraft: Fuels

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 5 June 2026UIN 4905

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment has he made of the adequacy of the availability of sustainable aviation fuel during operational deployments.

Answered by Luke Pollard

The availability of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for operational deployments varies, dependent on geographical location. Defence procurement of SAF in the UK is in accordance with the UK aviation SAF Mandate (currently 3.6 %). This mandate does not apply to overseas operating locations.
