Imports: Taxation
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, when the Government plans to publish the outcome of the consultation on the taxation of low-value imports; and what assessment has been made of its potential impact on UK businesses.
Answered by Dan Tomlinson
At Autumn Budget 2025 the Chancellor announced the removal of the Low Value Import (LVI) relief and published a technical consultation covering the design and implementation of the new LVI customs arrangements. This closed on 6 March, and the government is considering feedback before publishing a response later this year. Ministers and officials have engaged a wide range of stakeholders on the impact and operation of these arrangements alongside the consultation.
