The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what (a) funding and (b) community recovery schemes are available for areas, such as Epsom, that are recovering from (i) economically and (ii) socially damaging public disorder events.

The Government works closely with local authorities and community partners to support areas recovering from public disorder and to strengthen community cohesion. In response to the disorder witnessed in the summer of 2024, MHCLG established the Community Recovery Fund, with £15m being awarded to support those communities impacted by the public disorder that took place. More broadly, the Department continues to support places facing such challenges. In addition, MHCLG’s Common Ground Resilience Fund is supporting community connection and cohesion by funding locally led interventions to build community resilience. In 2025/26 it provided almost £3m funding to local communities to insulate them against threats to local social cohesion and resilience, with further funding to be confirmed soon. When local or national threats do arise, this government is supporting local people to tackle them at source. We will continue to work with local partners to ensure appropriate support is available as needs emerge.
