The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what is the doctrinal difference between Armoured Cavalry and Reconnaissance regiments.

Answered by Al Carns

Armoured Cavalry form part of the Reconnaissance regiments and deliver reconnaissance functions using armoured vehicles. They provide the same doctrinal output as other reconnaissance regiments, such as Light Cavalry, which conduct reconnaissance from lightly armoured wheeled platforms. More information on each Regiment can be found on the British Army website.
